Our candidates
Marie Snyder
Hatfield Borough
Tax Collector
In part because of my extensive background in bookkeeping, I was appointed by the Hatfield Borough Council to complete my predecessor’s Tax Collector term when he decided to resign. After receiving several thank you notes for helping residents with their past issues, which I posted on my office wall as a reminder of the human aspect of the job, I decided to seek my own term as the Hatfield Borough Tax Collector in the 2025 election. I look forward to not only collecting the County, Borough and School taxes during the next four years but also to helping the residents of our community navigate the processes.

I am a Gwynedd Mercy alumnus. Currently I am working as a healthcare coordinator. I am a mother of a 15 years of beautiful daughter “ Samah” and I absolutely love being a paw mother. It has been my dream to serve my community. Hatfield borough is a diverse city which I call my home. As an Asian American, I will be honored to serve my community in every aspect on council.
Mary Anne Girard
Hatfield Borough
Mayor
For over 40 years, I have proudly called Hatfield Borough my home, and since 2022, it has been my great honor to serve as the Mayor. My primary role as Mayor is to connect the Council with our residents; I prioritize this through community events, office hours, and effective communication. I serve on the Public Safety and HEROC Committees and act as the Northern Montgomery County Recycling Commission Secretary. I was excited to introduce the Junior Council Person Program to the Borough, which empowers our local high school students to participate actively in government. I kindly request your support in re-electing me for another four-year term to continue this important work.

Currently I serve as chairman of the Hatfield Economic Revitalization Opportunity Committee and the Utilities Committee and also serve on the Budget, Labor and Finance Committee working to ensure that our annual budget is balanced without undue burden on our residents and ensuring that our borough funds are managed to our advantage in a sound and responsible manner. Together with my wife, the Mayor, we have also introduced a new community welcoming program called Hatfield Hello which is used to acquaint new residents to various civic and social aspects of the Hatfield Borough community.

Commissioner Ward 2
My family moved to Hatfield, PA thirteen years ago. As we searched for a place to raise a family, luck would have us stumble upon a house on Peach Tree Lane which we have been grateful to find ever since.
I feel fortunate for having a position at Siemens that has allowed me to be incredibly active in my children’s lives. A few years ago, my role became a fully remote position. With my children still very young, it allowed me to become even more immersed into their activities both in and outside of school.
I continue to be involved in Home and School at A.M. Kulp Elementary. I brought Reading Olympics to the school and continue to partner with the administration and teachers to run this program. I still remember reading a statistic regarding the vast effect reading at a young age has on academic achievement and wanting to launch this fun program where the primary goal was motivating children to read. Most importantly, the program continues to be for every child who has a desire to read a few extra books and have fun doing it.
I am currently the Vice President of the Hatfield Summer Swim and Dive Team. I took on a board position when the team was struggling with growth and continuity. My goal was to grow the organization while also putting safe swimmers of all ages into the Hatfield Aquatic pool every season. We have now grown the team from 65 swimmers three seasons ago to an estimated 180 swimmers this season.
I have always aimed to build long standing relationships centered on community and take great pride in surrounding myself with those who are similarly focused and driven to making a difference.
My commitment to service, community, and building strong relationships is what prompted me to run for Ward 2 Commissioner in Hatfield.
